things i should do
As always, January rolls around with large to-do lists full of items we neglected over the holidays, or steps to taking our newly founded resolutions and goals. My "to dos" seem to be the largest at the beginning of a new year and quite frankly, a little overwhelming. I am the type of person that ends up making far too many goals for even a super-woman to accomplish. I love the strong motivation I feel at the new year but sometimes have to reign it in. The best way I have found to keep it under control and visualize my goals and responsibilities is through none other than... a simple written to do list! Being able to SEE what you have to get done really helps put the time periods and possibilities into perspective. It's also a great reminder for me. I swear there is a short circuit somewhere in my brain that is in charge of remembering the most important things I need to be doing. So it's just best I write them down rather than trusting that short circuit.
And why not display it beautifully? Far too many of my quickly written lists are scribbles on napkins or notes in my iphone. Here is a beautiful and simple solution to the list frenzy. We've created two printables to help you through your goal-making months. The first is an anytime list that you can print out and use every day of the week! The second is a weekly list that you can use to help plan out your entire week, every week. The best part about these is the fact that once you have them, you can print them out as many times as you'd like, which means no more losing your list on the sticky note that fell off of the bathroom mirror. Not that I've ever done that...
One of my goals this year is to do more of what I love. This means, in my case, more hand-drawn pieces, more sketches, more art. I'm excited to incorporate more of my artwork into our blog this year. I think that items created by hand mean so much more anyway. So keep a look-out for those!
