move and work

This post marks the beginning of a new series for our blog.. book features! Both Griffin and I love design books. We started collecting them when we got married and have been doing so ever since! Besides being great to style with, we actually love to read them (no they aren't just decorations). There are so many inspiring things other creators in our field of work have learned and experienced! In fact, they are really the only type of book I read on a regular basis! Well.. baby books might also be included in my regular study now-a-days, that's mom life.

We thought we'd kick it off with one of our absolute favorites! It is called 'Move and Work' by Malene Birger. Usually we purchase a book because we like the majority of content.. but EVERY SINGLE PAGE is inspiring in this beauty.

Birger beautifully displays her three homes on the large scale pages. She describes herself as a 'nomad' and gathers her inspiration from all around the world. This is obvious as you flip through this book. The textures, objects and textiles scream well-traveled. The other thing that downright inspires me is the focus on art. The art is PHENOMENAL! Loosely painted abstracts both large and small scale.. well that's a dream come true.

We really hope to adopt many of her philsophies throughout our careers, especially to 'move and work'. We're in love with idea of consistently working hard and always moving forward. We want to be ever-learning and developing in our careers while also enhancing the collected nature of our interiors.

We hope you'll follow along this fun new series to see what inspires us! Let us know if there are design books out there that you love. We'd love to check them out!
